RAM mounts?

Hey guys, I have a HB 788CI. I was thinking about getting a RAM mount for it. The stock mount just is a pain the way my boat is set up. I was wondering if anybody has used RAM mounts and how good they hold up.  They look pretty sturdy. I was just trying to get some input before going out and blowing some cash.

I use RAM mounts with my Humminbirds, but not with the quick disconnect mount units. Some do.
RAM has a model that fits the Humminbird quick disconnect mount.
Just go to the RAM web site and use their selection menu for the unit you have.
If you get more than one choice, choose the largest model.

Have a HB 788cihddi and I had a ram mount mounted when they mounted the unit. I love it. Allows for quick mounting and removal of my unit. Sets it up a bit high than just the unit itself. (easier reading) Stows out of the way when boat is covered. Has 360* swivel for easy viewing anywhere in my boat.
Money well spent for me. IMO

Thanks guys!  I really want one because currently I am only using on Graph. I am in the process of getting another. The way my boat is set up, it just isn't high enough for me to look at easily(i am about 6 foot 6), so I want something to set up a little higher.

I agree with it being too low, I have the same problem with my 798.  I saw a pic somewhere of a 798 mounted on a 3 foot high post up front, a little odd, but all in what you want.

I am holding out for a bigger unit!!

I have an HDS7 on a 1 1/2" ball. steady as a rock on the bow of a tin. I think they sell longer center sections.
