Fished  from  6 am to 2 pm caught 12 fish 8 were over 15 inches the biggest was 3 1/2 lbs. Had to cover a lot of water to get em, most were caught on plastics. Launched out of Scott's cove and fished towards the dam

Dbrunner, As the spawn winds down on the reservoirs, the next couple of weeks is going to be hit or miss. One tip I can give you is when they finish spawning and go back to the deeper water, it won't be far from where they spawned. This is typical of post spawn in all the reservoirs in Maryland- you will go from hitting the motherlode to having to search to find fish and putting a pattern together.

I fished Saturday from about 0630 till 1130. Had a good friend with me, who is not a fisherman at all. all day long he was getting snagged and making a huge ruckus in the boat. Did manage to catch a nice 2.5lber. but nothing else all day. saw quite a few of them cruising, but everytime we would get close my buddy would spook them. Dbrunner, I believe I saw you pulling out, but by the time we got moving you were nowhere in site. All in all a great day, got to spend time with a good friend and did manage to land a fish.

which is the better reservoir, triadelphia or the gorge. i have never fished rocky gorge

I would have to say its the gorge, but I fish it a lot more. In the past I've done really good on the gorge and thought I could use the same things on triadelphia but it didn't work  I think I'm going to spend more time on triadelphia this summer, since I usually do well there in the spring but struggle when they go deep

Triadelphia is what I believe they call a "highland reservoir". Rocky Gorge is more like a long, lazy river. Triadelphia is much deeper than the Gorge and I think has a lot more flats and points than the Gorge and a lot less visible cover than the Gorge. The fish in both reservoirs relate to the "thermocline" in both reservoirs after they have spawned and the water starts heating up. I always found Triadelphia to be more productive fishing in the early morning hours  and in the late afternoon/early evening hours once the warmer weather hit. During the summer at Rocky Gorge, it was being able to locate the fish and find out what they wanted. The time of day didn't play a big part in whether I caught fish or got skunked. Something else you might try at Triadelphia during the summer is the use of live bait in the form of shiners or crawfish if you can still find a bait shop that carries them. The bass at Triadelphia love live crayfish.

Rocky Gorge is pretty good for numbers, but I catch bigger fish in Triadelphia
