I was at a presentation with Scott Martin this winter and he had a handle that was longer and had larger knobs. Do you know what he uses and if they can purchased?

Scott's using our new Okeechobee Power Handle.  Longer arm that increases leverage and oversized EVA knobs.  It was a custom product that we got him one to demo.  Within days he was phoning, ordering another 8 of them- loved the leverage for flippin' & deep cranking.

Product is being packaged for retail and will be available shortly at $24.99.  We'll put them on the website as soon as they're ready.

Here's the handle.

What kind of an effect do you think the weight of the longer handle and the larger knobs is going to have on the over all wear and tear on the reels?

Will you be offering any reels with this longer handle in the future?

Good question Laurie.  Any time you install a handle with a  larger throw you increase the torque and pressure applied to the internal gearing.  When used in normal fishing conditions the handle has been proven with excellent results.  If you try and remove a tree stump from the bottom of the lake and utilize the full force of the handle you may experience some issues.  I guess like anything, when used within reason, the handle will add quite a surety and comfort to your grip.

I just ordered one of these today.  I had seen it on the Scott Martin Challenge when he was flipping heavy cover.  I had not even thought about using it for deep cranking.  I will use it on either an Alumina or the new Krios that I just purchased.

Got the larger handle today and I think I'm going to really like it.  Like others I had a tendency to wonder about weight issues.  The actually handle is about 1/4 inch larger than the stock Krios, but it's the knobs that make it what it is.  I don't think it increases the weight to a large extent.  But again, the knobs give you more of a sense of control.  I may have to try one on one of my cranking rods.  I think it will make the constant cranking more comfortable.
