Hey this is a little thing but it's ticking me off.

We have a gateway touch screen desk top and the flipping thing is so sensitive that if a bug touches the screen it can and does open programs, or if it walks across the screen they can drag icons around or even change the settings.

Soooooooooo this past week while camping the little buggers kept getting into the camper at night with all the lights on and the kids running in and out the door and somehow the screen size icon in the lower right of the screen is now gone and I can't figure out how to get it back.  It show the screen size of Explorer so if I hold down control and roll the wheel on my mouse I can enlarge or shrink the screen and it shows I'm at 80%, 100% 125% and so on.  When it's there you can also click on the icon and just select the size view you want.  Do any of you have any ideas?

2nd part is does anyone know how or even if I can change the setting for the screen so you would have to place X amount of pressure on the screen before it would react to inputs?  I'd sure like to get it to stop playing change Fogy's computer around with the bugs,,,,, hell at this point I'd be happy to just shut off the touch screen if you can even do that.

Why do we have this issue?  It's D's fault she liked her Momma's puter and when my laptop started acting up she got this.  ::)

Can't you go into the Control Panel and make the corrections to the icon sizes?

yes but it's a pain in the butt to do that just to verify I'm setting at 125% "thats where I like my window size"  @ 125 I get a bigger screen shot without messing up the page forcing me to scroll right or left.  Now I can adjust the size at will just by holding down control and turning the center wheel on my mouse but it's a comfort thing to be able to look over and see that Yes I'm at 125% or that the bugs have moved it to some odd number,,,,, when they move it to say 77, 192, 266 I can't just use the mouse and control to get back to where I want to be because it's stuck on the odd last number I have to click the icon and select 100%, 105%, 110 and so on.

Anyway I found the icon today,,,, it's under view drop down menu top left, select tool bars and make sure "status Bar" is clicked brings everything back.   ~c~

Now If I could just figure out how to turn off or reprogram the touch screen this wouldn't be an issue any more.  ~rant
