Looking to buy a old town canoe and wondering the best way to transport it. I have a 05 f150 supercab with the 6.5 foot bed

My dad has an 2002 F150, when I go fishing with him he got a metal rack for the truck for like $150 bucks on the boat fits on that no problem. depending on the size of your canoe, you will most likely need a rack or small rowboat trailer

You can also buy a rack that comes out of the receiver hitch to hold up the back end of the canoe.

I used to just ratchet-strap mine to the top of the truck- used a couple of old patio furniture pads until I copied an idea to use the noodle pool floats with a slit down them, slip that on the side rails of canoe and strap it down however you can. not the most professional or fanciest way to do it but i like to save my money for important things. like rods and lures - lol

I didn't think of the noodle floats!  Good idea!  I ratchet strap mine on the top of my SUV, but I have a longer body than a truck
