I have an old Jon boat I was wanting to fix up to do some pond fishing My question is it has broken support brace in the bottom. What is the best way to fix the brace? Thanks.

I am sure a lot will depend on how and where it is broken. It may be that it can be riveted or in the worse case,it may require some aluminum welding. Is it possible for you to post a  ;PHO) of the break?

I HAVE TRYED TO fix canoes boats before and if a support brace is broken i would take it to a welder and have it welded that way you wont have any problem with it

Is the boat Aluminum? If so find someone who can weld aluminum. You can also just put a thin gusit across it made of steel or heavy aluminum and screw it together with either pop rivets or self taping screws.

"Old" jonboats are often way too thin guage to weld. The last time I had that done they burned a bigger hole in the hull. Modern thick guage aluminum hulls can be welded with no problem. Rivets are the only way I would recommend. Buy a rivet tool at Sears Craftsman ($20), coming with a supply of rivets. Drill holes and attach! If they leak smear the JB Weld over inside and outside of a loose rivet rather than try to hammer them tighter. That just weakens them.
