Was wondering if anyone has has any dealings with the Tracker Pro 16? I was looking into purchasing one and was curious about how well they are built and how well they hold up. I was thinking of having it powered with the 40 hp 4 stroke Mercury- is that enough motor to push the boat down river? Thanks for any input you can give.

I have a 2002 Tracker DV-16 with a 40hp Mercury 2 Stroke.  I have not had any problems.  I would go with the 75hp if you can.  I know I sure wish I had the 75hp, especially when I have a partner in the boat and most definite if you plan on having three in boat.

I was just looking at this model a couple of days ago and really like the way this boat is laid out, the front looks huge for a boat this size, love the console, graphics I mean for a price tag of 8,995 I believe it's worth the money.

My brother had the 99' model pro 16 and it was powered by a 25 mercury by tracker, personally the boat was not fast but it got you down the water quick enough, so in my opinion the fourstroke 40hp should push this boat well.

yea she moves along. its deff not a speed boat but it does the job quite well.. i top out at 35mph with 2 peeps and every thing full.

I top out at 25mph when I'm in the boat by myself.  I don't know the year of your boat, but I'd like to know how you are going 34mph with a boat full of supplies and 2 peeps????

I have a 2011 Pro Angler 16 (same boat different name) with a Merc 30 4 Stroke and she moves along just fine with my wife and myself and all our gear

I have the 2012 proguide 175 with a 115hp optimax (2 stroke) that tops out at 42mph.  I love it.  Tons of room and very stable.  While I spend most of my time on reservoirs chasing green fish, I went for the deep-V so I could venture out on bigger water in the fall (like right now when the salmon are stacked up outside the rivers on Lake Ontario.  I can't scoot across the water at 65+MPH like a lot of the bass boat guys but when the power boat traffic is heavy in the summer I'm happy with the deep-V.
If fishing all weekend is wrong....I don't wanna be right
