Nice.  How well does the paint hold up to everyday use?

 ~c~ Very nice looking!  Congrats on getting a free reel from the water!  how hard is it to repaint a reel to your liking, and is there any special paints you need to use?  Seems like a great way to personalize your gear!  :-*

They both look awesome. That green to gold would look cool on my Extreme rods.

Thanks guys !!

Reels are a lot of work to paint!! They have to be completely broken down, sanded, primed, painted and then cleared. After all that, it then has to be put back together. Clean everything inside, re-grease and re-lube everything.

I just started using Depont Chroma Clear as the clearcoat. I have read tons of things on the best clears and it all leads to automotive clears. You have to be Very Careful spraying auto clears, it is very harmful, if inhaled!! Extreme measures have to be made for spraying the automotive clear!!

Wow! That looks pretty sweet! The reel still fish worth a hill a beans?  lo
Good Fishing, and God bless

That is awesome!  Great job on both reels. ~c~  What did you use as a clear coat?  ;PEP)
ARX - IB's Daughter on BC Reels:
"Papi! I like this reel. It is so much easier to use than the other one (the spinning reel) and it is more fun to use too." Now all I can say to that is this;
"That's my little girl!"

Thanks Again Guys!!

Awesome paint jobs! Does the Shimano still work after being dredged up from the waters like that?
