I have a 2008 175txw w/ a 60 four stroke mercury. The center seat has fallen apart, the screws/bolts on the back/step of the seat have came out. Not sure if the wood or what ever tracker used for the back just gave out but they are done. Has anyone else had this problem? I took it out and am in the process of building a step up box with storage for it. My fishing partner hard at work, earning his keep.  ~roflmao

I havent had any of the issues you mentioned, but I am considering taking out my center seat as well. But for a whole different reason. I have an 05 PT175. For me, it is too cumbersome or I am clumsy and accident prone to cross the seat to get to the rear deck. So I have been thinkng of taking out and replacing it with a step/console setup.  Please post pics and what issues came across while doing it. I can see we are already on the same page.

SC no problem, hopefully it will be done this week.

Here is the seat, as you can see the bolts have separated from the back of the seat.

The box is coming along, ran out of glue yesterday. I only bought on can thinking that would be enough, it was....... just for the lid. So back to lowes today for more glue.

this is the lid, just need to cut the excess on the sides and glue it down.

I've been thinking of  doing similar things too, since it's just usually me and another person. The seat just gets stepped on anyway.

OK guys we finished it up last night and I am going to put it in the boat today if it doesn't rain. Here are some pics.
It will still flip up as the set did as well.

i don't like my center seat on my 2010 175 so I'm going to put a drop in box with a step led and bass pro sells the same rubber matting thats on the top of the center seat but that is the perfect place for storage

That is cool man. I cant wait to see the install in the boat. That is exactly what I was thinking of doing with mine. Cant wait to see theinstall pics.

Here it is in the boat. Glad it is done and looks good to me.

The seats are ripped but that's ok, I have a brand new pair at the house that I got from Tracker for free. Just going to wear these out first.

now i see why you put the box on top so you can have storage on top and under looks good and yes tracker needs to improve on the seats  ~c~

Nice mod. Can someone tell where or add a link to the rubber material on the back of the center seat? I had a squirrel get under my tarp and chewed some holes in it. Would like to redo it. Cant seem to find it on Bass pro website. thanks.

Nice job.  Very handy spot for extra storage.  Jim

Is that box thick enough to add a car stereo in the front of it? I want to add a stereo to mine but don't want to cut into dash or compartments.

goober

yes it is thick enough for a stereo.

That is a great looking job!  I have some leftover carpet, and you have solved a problem I had with lack of storage near the captain's seat! THANKS!!!

I have a 2005 175TX.  As others have, I got tired of stepping over the folded up seat getting to the back deck.  Attached are a couple of pictures of what I did with the area.  Not as elaborate as the box shown above, but it works.

I took a sheet of poly, cut it to size, put the hinge that was on the seat on the sheet of poly, put some non-skid tape on top, and set it into place.  It folds forward, like the seat did, for access to the storage under the step.  I also took a router to the edges to smooth it out some and take the sharp corners off.
