Thanks jocko, really good stuff.  Around bridges is an excellent idea!  I will definitely check out those books too.  I'm going to need something to get me through the winter!  I'm already worried about the withdrawl symptoms, haha.

pittsburghbass, congratulations on your new kayak! It sounds like you are having a great time. I was glued to each and every post as I read through this thread. Kayak fishing seems like such fun.

Thank you!  It has really improved my fishing... not having a boat and being stuck to shore just wasnt cutting it!  It's definitely a great budget-friendly way to increase your range on the water.  Now i'm trying to convince my buddies to buy one too and join me.  Its amazing how many more fish you can catch when you can travel to wear the fish are, haha.

Mike and I live between two small lakes, both of which we can get to within 2 - 5 min. Both lakes were lowered for dock maintenance this spring and because of the lack of rain they are not only still low but they are both falling (drastically). I was just telling him we were going to have to get something that we could carry to the water and paddle around or we may not get to fish them again.

Yeah a kayak would be perfect!  Its great for when the fish are in shallow water anywhere... you dont need very much water AND they are so much more stealthy than a boat.
