Fished the north branch of the Susquehanah River  in Owego, wednesday morning. A buddy and I were on the water by 6:30. The morning was slow with only two little smallies caught by 10:30... Then a storm started to roll in  and the fishing started to pick up  for the next six or so hours we ended up catching between 10 and 15 smallies a peice all on a tube jig. thje river is extremely low right now and have got to be careful for shallow spots .. Most of are fish came between 6-8 ft of water and a few shallower. Water visibily was about the best your ever gona see in the river with about 3-4 ft.

Thanks for posting.....that section of the river I fished as a kid all the way down into the northeast area of PA to Scranton.  Good to see it is still producing.  Any pictures?  Feel free to post some of those bad boys.

Hey Baron,  Scranton is in my neck of the woods. Only about an hour upriver of me, and I've fished the Wilkes Barre area once a few years ago.

I was born and raised in a small town just north of Scranton called Factoryville.  Got out fishing a lot when I was a kid growing up.  My uncle was a die hard flyfisherman for trout, a real purist and use to get upset with me wanting to go catch those "damn brown fish" (smallmouths) instead of going trout fish with him.  As kids we used to float huge areas of the river on truck tire inner tubes.  We were tube fishing back in the 60's long before someone "thought" they invented it here a few year back.

No pictures from this trip.. We weighed a couple of the bigger fish and the biggest for the day was just under four pounds. We caught probably 2-3 more in the 3lb range and  most of the others  i would say were in the high 1s to 2 1/2 pound range all great fighting fish.. I got bit off on the hookset from a musky/ pike and my buddy haddy a nice musky follow his top water bait in and just sat right by the boat thing had to be close to forty inches. I fish the river alot seeing how  i live so close but havent been taking many pictures this yr.

Nothing wrong with any of those fish.  I understand about taking pictures after catching dozens of fish in the same size class it gets old.  Usually now don't take pictures unless the bass is 4 or 5 lbs or more.

Thanks for posting.....good to see that the waters back home are still producing well.
