Hey How about we keep it in Colorado.  Lakes would be Horsetooth, Navajo, and Pueblo.

Denver is basically in the middle so can easily travel to all 3.

Ft Collins to Pueblo 3 hours
Durango to Pueblo 4 hours

Durango to Navajo 45 min
Northern Colorado clubs to Horsetooth 30 - 45 min

I think someone has forgotten about the travel we would have to make from those of us up north.  Plus if we want to increase participation I have the feeleing that the bulk may come from the clubs and anglers from up north.

When looking at Ute and Navajo we are making 2, 16 hour trips both ways to those two lakes.  Denver could go to Horsetooth or Pueblo and be within a couple hours of either and still go to Navajo if they wanted.  If there was only one 8 hour drive you may even see some of us northerners at Navajo.  I would think the Durango guys would much rather make a 5 hour drive to Pueblo, than an 8 hour drive to Ute.

Glad to see you join the chatter, Mr. Villa!

No.....someone isn't forgetting the guys up north.  He is however, thinking of the guys out west and about the entire state, as far as travel goes.  4 hours to Durango from Pueblo?  Not sure about that time estimate.
Durango to Ute is only 6.5 hrs based on a western club guy's reports.  I say only, because we are getting used to 11 and 12 hr trips.    :'(

Ft. Collins is 2.5 hrs away from Colorado Springs and Ute is approx. 4.5 hrs from my doorstep in Colorado Springs, so that would make it about 7 hrs to Ute for the FT. Collins guys with a 14 hr round trip, not a 16 hr trip.  Not much of a difference, but different non the less.  Still, very close to the travel of the SWB guys, so pretty central.

Our travel from this side of the range, over the past years, is nothing compared to the travel the SWB guys have had to deal with to attend STQT's.  Us guys in Colorado Springs just happen to be kind of in the middle of things, for the most part.  We appear to be in a better travel position all the time, so I think about the north and the west and us Springs guys fall into it where we fall into it.

Someone interested in fishing the CBF will always be closer in one year or another, but lakes can rotate every year as we like.  Not a big deal.  Doesn't really matter when you only have to fish 2 events.  Fish one long one and one close one.  Done.

Yes, there is some travel and will always be for someone, but lets get the "real" numbers out in front of everyone, so they can make good educated decisions on any of this format stuff.  Lakes can always be rearranged to keep things interesting, but members only need to fish 2 events if the travel of 3 bothers them.  That is why only 2 would count to the standings; to give guys choices.  Each member picks what would be best for him; fishing 2 or all 3.  This is much more user friendly than having say "just a 1 or a 2 event format."  If guys can't make a tournament in one of those formats, they are out.  With a best 2 out of 3, guys can wiggle in, if they want.

If we went to Horsetooth, Pueblo and Navajo the same year, I would not have a problem with that and I doubt many others down here would either, except for Horestooth fishes small for a STQT, but any of them can be tough at any given time.

You STILL NEED TO FISH ALL 3 to have the same shot at making the team as you have now.... ~rain (parade)

It's still a circuit, multiple weekends, etc., etc.  I can take one full week off and be good, but three weekends with travel days on top, isn't going to happen for me.  I haven't fished in 2 1/2 months cause I don't have the time.  These proposals also come with a way to give me more weekends in a year?
