I have a 2006 Tracker PT175. I am looking at putting a recessed trolling motor tray on the boat, should make it a bit easier on my back. Has anyone done this with their boat? I dont think it would be a problem on the new Pro Teams because they are a bit longer than mine. I believe the 07-09's where 17'-10" and the 10's and 11's are 17'-7", the 06 and older models are 17'-3", I think it might be an issue, maybe not though. Will installing one interfere with the tubes for the rod locker in the center?

I just did one on my Ranger boat very easy to do just measure twice and cut once.   you will need 3.5 inches of clearance under your deck to do this plus a little more for the tube and nozzle for the drain.
It has a 1.5 inch lip for a little room for mistakes  :)

I had some repair to do because it was soft so I replaced the floor with pure vinyl (1x10 boards) instead of marine plywood and its rock solid. I love technology...

Good luck on your boat.

Hey Deerhunter, where did you get your pure vinyl boards?

Frd, You will not regret recessing the pedel.  Did my Jon and I love it. With an aluminum boat it is so much better because it allows you to keep your balance easier. Jim

Thanks Deerhunter.

Frdtrtnfx4, Let us know how the recess peddle turns out.  Post some pics of the sequence of steps required to install if you can.  Im sure a lot of people will be interested in seeing them.  Jim

Does your boat have rod storage inthe center of the deck?  I have a '09 TXW175 and the rod storage is in the center.  If so, the rod tubes will be in the way.  I experimented with the position of the foot control on the deck and make a conscience decision of switching between using my right & left feet.

Yup, my rod storage is in the center of the boat. That is what I am worried about, being that my boat is a few inches shorter than the newer ones, I believe it will be a big issue, I really dont want to lose any rod storage. I havent decided if I am going to install one this year or next, kinda leaning towards next year. If/when I install this tray, I will be sure to post pictures.
