Jeff P.

Hello fellow New Yorkers... I just joined the forum and it was suggested that I introduce myself here.
My name is Jeff, I live in Oneonta, and I'm returning to fishing regularly, after spending many years away from it.  While I still don't have as much time to fish as I would like (who does?) I'm out there when ever I can be.  I have a small aluminum jon boat and I hit as many of my areas ponds, lakes and streams as I can.  My usual fishing partner is my younger brother (He's the one who got me excited by the sport again) and we fish together whenever possible.  Last year at the end of July, we took a trip up to the Adirondacks to Lake Durant for a week of camping and fishing... no wives, no kids...just camping and fishing.  The weather was hot, it rained a bunch, the bugs were ravenous, and it took most of our time to figure out where the bass were, so... awesome trip!  We are headed up there again on June 30 this year (can't hardly wait) and would appreciate any tips, advice or general info anyone might have in regard to Lake Durant and bass fishing this time of the year.  Also, and sort of related...any tips on catching Tiger Muskie?  Last year we lost 2 lures (1 each of us) to muskies, due to the lack of adequate leaders (duh).  That will not be a problem this year, but if we are fishing for bass in the same areas that the muskies lurk in...well...I would truly love to hook into that!
Hope to be able to bring back some fish stories and maybe a picture or two...
