My fishing buddy and I hit a small inland lake here in NY to see what we could do and were very impressed with the fishing.  Air temps first thing in the morning started cool at 50 degrees and the water temps started at 72 degrees.  Wind was out of the north at around 10 to 15 mph.  The air temp warmed to mid 70's and the surface water temp came up to mid 70's by mid afternoon as well.

We pulled on a weedbed with a deep edge as our fist stop and within minutes my buddy had several on a jerk bait.  I worked the outside edge of the weeds and got a couple on a jig and pig.  We worked the area with several other baits and found a beaver thrown just inside the weedline produced more and bigger fish.  Fishing the inside of several other weed beds proved to be the same.  My buddy stayed with a heavy jig and pig pitched into openings and pockets while I pitched the beaver into the thick clumps of milfoil.  We both caught several dozen bass from small undersized fish to many in the 3 lb class.  All in all a great day on the water.  I am expecting the bigger fish to set up in their deeper summer haunts within the next week or two.

Baron,

Thanks for sharing the trip with us.  It sounds as if it was a great trip.
