Going to Destin this month and wanted to know if anybody could give me some tips on surf/pier fishing. I have read that pompano are pretty easy to catch but I would also like to catch a mackerel or bluefish too. Also has anybody ever caught specks in the surf? Thanks for any tips.

I'm heading to Destin this week but, I won't be doing any fishing.  I have no ideas for you as far as the fishing is concerned but, you may try talking to some locals at the tackle shops for advice.
Retired after 34 yrs. with Jacksonville P.D.  Now I have time to hunt and fish!
