How many people are registered at this time?

Gabby

We have 14 people inked and payed, but we are really expecting a lot more from what we have heard from some clubs, etc.

We are hoping that everyone doesn't come Saturday morning, because the launch method is going to be shot if we have 20-30 boats.  If that is the case, we are going to do the 'honor system' and have everyone get to their spots and then start fishing at 6am.

That is not my idea, but it is not my tournament either.  I am planning on fishing it!

Gabby,
You will be suprised how many people you can launch from Clarks, we launched 178 boats in the everstart 2 days in a row and 200 boats in the BASS central 2 days in a row, so it can be done if you have someone out on the water at the NO WAKE sign that can call numbers.

Launching after checking in is not out of the question, there is a lot of honor in the tournament community and if you say first cast is 6am then they will honor that within a min or two as long as you give everyone the official time at check in.  You will actually get a smoother launch if you did it that way, the contestants can launch and travel at their own risk to their spot or stay until they can see and then launch, either way, your job is done when they check in and have their live well checked.  it is up to the tournament director, which needs to be established so final decisions can be made at the weigh-in or if a dispute arises, they need to know who is in charge.

see ya in the morning, I am going to try to be there by 4:30.  Mike may or may not be there, he has to work.

They launch the revel tournament under the honor system and it seems to work good. I will be going to academy this evening to register.

Gabby , the tournament was great ...You guys did an excellent job and are to be commended . What other tournament  can you finish 18th get a prize and get fed too for the low price of 35.00 ? Hope you guys raised a decent chunk... The thing I was most impressed with is all the money winners donating the money back to Ben and his family . Our local fishermen came through on this one and they should be commended as well .Nice job...  ;D

Guys/Girls,

I just want to thank every one of you who helped out with this tournament.  Boy, it was MUCH bigger than expected - and it meant the world to the Campbell family.  Mike Echols stepped in and really made this thing more enjoyable.  I am completely dilerious right now, but I will give you all some pictures and proper thanks later on.  Steve & gang - thanks a million!

Gabby

P.S. - I have been told that over $6,000 was raised!!!!  Totally unbelievable!

Just wanted to say how much I enjoyed meeting the Campbell's and all their friends that helped, it was my privilege to be involved and I look forward to meeting Corben and his new brother Rylan and taking them fishing one day.

What an out-pouring of the fishing community to come to the aid of such a great family, Kudos to all that showed up and participated and to all the sponsors that donated prizes and money to such a wonderful cause.

God Bless

Here are a few pictures from the tournament that I thought you guys might like:

(L to R):  Gabby, Brad Campbell, Ben Campbell, Matt Titus, & Brantley Salter.

(L to R):  Brantley Salter, Ben (Corben's Dad), Steve, & Gabby

Brantley & Gabby prepare for battle (we caught one keeper weighing 1.92)

Two contributors:  Mike Echols weighing in Russ McVey.  Russ donated a 1/2 day guide trip and Mike was a HUGE help making the tournament run smoothly.

An emotional Ben Campbell expresses his thanks to everyone.

I can't even begin to express how much we appreciate all of the generosity that it took to make this thing work.  It is just so nice to see the way people rally for a little boy.  The fact that there were 52 teams involved speaks a lot for our great fishing community.  We are a rare breed!!!
