New to forum - From Texas but stationed in Korea

Hello everyone -
I'm from Texas and I've been bass fishing as long as I can remember - thought this year in korea was gonna be really tough on me til I learned that they imported bass over here. Can't wait to get some rods and start checking out new water. That's almost as fun as catching fish. I already asked bassinkorea about spots or advice but would appreciate any info that anyone can offer. Thanks

Welcome to Ultimatebass we're glad you're here.  Where are you from in Texas?  I saw where you've made contact with Bassinkorea, he'll square you away with the insights on fishing over there.

Thanks for you're service to our Great Nation also.  Theres a lot of active duty and retired military that hang out here.

Good luck with your tour over there the time will fly by once you get busy.  Is Camp Carroll in the vic Uijeongbu?

I'm right down the road from you actually. I've called Copperas Cove home for about the past 5 years.  I'm from Joshua originally(small town) but lived in or around Arlington for about ten years before joining the Army.  Stillhouse was my lake of choice most of the time. I haven't been able to spend much time on Belton but hope to when I upgrade my boat to something lake-worthy. As far as where I am now - I'm towards the southeastern part of korea well away from Uijeongbu.

Good luck and be safe there in Korea.  I was stationed there from 77 - 78 up North at Camp Hovey.
I'm currently working in Iraq at Camp Victory as an Army Contractor.

Maybe we can hook up when you get back from Korea.  I've had the pleasure of fishing Stillhouse once with Pawpaw who lives in Flat Texas near Gatesville.

Stillhouse sure looks inviting except when that darn wind comes up.

@donald - I'm always down for fishing- have you done any fishing on victory? I was on liberty for 15 months and caught some nice fish around z-lake and lost lake. The "mangar" species they have is awesome - fantastic strikes and fights if you can get one to hit. Seen a few that were bigger then I am but my largest was about 20 pounds. The asp arn't bad either.

I've not done any fishing over here as the hours I work don't allow me the time.  I have been driving around and seen the soldiers fishing and have seen videos and pictures of the fish they caught.

Your right they are some big and werid looking fish over here in these lakes.

I live just south of ya in Round Rock....TAke care over there...cacth a few fish and get back to gods Country asap....

I had relatiives in cove for many years...they're all gone from there now thru natural causes or moved.
