My buddy and I fished Cherokee Lake in Tenn. 5-16 and 5-17.  We caught some hybrid stripers from 3 to 9 lb on Flitterbaits and top water wake baits.  We would burn and pump the Flitterbaits back across points to get reaction bites.  We fished at night with wake baits and caught 14 hybrids.  Man that was fun.

Sounds like yall had a blast!!! I love catching the hybrid bass myself. We mostly troll manns stretch 15+ or 20+ cranks for
them or use a jigging spoon if there really deep. I have only casted cranks a couple of times for them and when you got a
strike, it would allmost take the rod out of your hand!! Hybrids fight like crazy and are lots of fun!!

They sure are fun.  I love to catch them on top water baits at night.  Can't beat that.  I have pictures but need permission to post them first.

Sweet!! Those all should have put up some good fights!! Hoping we can find a big school of them next month
while we are over in Effaula.

Yes they do pull hard.  It always feels like they are headed in the opposite direction when they hit that Flitterbait.

It was a blast!  You cant reel those Flitterbaits too fast.  They can't stand that thing zipping past them.  When they hit, you have to have a good grip or you will lose you rod and reel.
