So I plan on taking the kayak out on the river this weekend, but the weather is calling for cold front to come in near the end of the week.  We'll go from air temps of around 80 to a high of 65.  What kind of effect will this have on the fishing?  I'm assuming the water temperature might drop a little bit, so coming from warmer weather, will this make the fish more or less active?  And what techniques would you recommend?

DBrooke

We had that front a few days ago and the bite was on! Reaction baits were key here. Then the warm weather came back on Sat and shut them down. So the cold front actually made for really good fishing here, the return to "normal" shut them off.

Nice, thats what I wanted to hear.  So for 'reaction bites' I'm thinking a double blade spinner or maybe a lipless crankbait in the shallows?

DBrooke

I was throwing double willow blade spinnerbaits and Vibrashocks (chatterbait type lure). I'm not one for cranking lo
