Took Mike Cork out today to do a little old fashion pond fishing.  10ft basshunter, 30lb troll motor, and some frogs and let the fun begin.  Everybody should do this every once in a while to remind us how we started.  Oh yeah we did catch a couple of fish too.

May do that, but Cork kicked my but in fish catching and he said he had not fished that way in 15 years or more.  Like riding a bike I guess. so I may have to make guests sign a agreement not to catch more fish than the host.

The way I remember it I only got ahead because you had to answer the phone a couple times  ;)

I did get a little run going at the end but that was because of the fantasic boat guide!

Had a blast, brings you back to how you started!!!

I remember WAY back when a buddy of mine had a Coleman Crawdad, fished lots of small water around this area...caught lots of fish in the backwater and oxbows of the Red River, long before it ever had locks and dams.

Pond fishing is a blast!  The pond, or lake, behind my house is 10 acres so, it's the perfect size.  My wife has caught 4 over 10 lbs. on my lake and I'm here to tell you, these ponds you find in housing developments and especially on golf courses, hold some HUGE bass.
Retired after 34 yrs. with Jacksonville P.D.  Now I have time to hunt and fish!

I still go to goldpoint on jim adgers place. it's about 400 acres. We only fish one side but we have fun.Not doing to good this year between the grass carp and the low water. cant find them like I used to. We easily would catch a 20 lb. sack out there any given day before. We have caught 5 over 7.5# in 2 spings. Those grass carp have ate every piece of grass in that lake. I am waiting for them to die. literally . ~rant.  on the other hand the low water could bring the grass back faster. thats my hope anyways. He has floridas in there and they need grass. I started my bass fishing there at 12. 12ft jon boat and 30 lb motorguide, a couple black buzz baits and a pack of  ol monster worms.
If you cast it. They will come.
