What exactly is the difference?

I am guessing that a finesse worm you can fish just like a "regular" worm, but they are just smaller and can help when the bite is slow?

Trick worms-- :-\ What's the, uh... trick? What are they, what do they do, what don't they do?

Creel Limit Zero

Trick worm is just like the finesse worm, just a little thicker and a couple of inches longer.  They can be used in the exact same fashion as a finesse worm, but one thing they do better than the finesse worm IMO is weightless.  You just don't get the same action and they are hard to throw those tiny little finesse worms weightless, but the trick worm you can.  Try the trick worm, they always seem to trick'em...

From what I can tell the finesse worm just has a smaller profile than the trick worm.

Throw out a weightless trick worm and give it a slow twitch-pause retrieve. You will see the trick  :)

Just used the trick worm for the first time a couple of weeks ago when I was in Florida and it was awesome...Like Jax says, slow twitch-pause.  The bass usually hit on the initial fall, but if not be ready for the very next one!

most companies offer finesse worms in 4 or 5 inch sizes...shorter...

trick worms are 6-7 inches or sometimes longer....and usually get 'twitched' although they can be fished like finesse worms (this is where it gets confusing)...

Trick worm is a product name for a 6 inch Zoom worm often fished as a 'floating worm'...but it sinks slowly...great spring time bait...excellent c-rig bait...shaky head bait...wacky bait...great all around worm.

I also like the 5 inch 'finesse worm' from zoom...usually fish it with weight (bullet or on jig heads)...

What you ask to be described is similar to asking folks to explain 'what is grass'?

trick worms are bigger and like everyone else said can be used without weights. i never really use finesse worms but ive been usin zoom junebug trickworms for the past five years in all waters and caught a few fish almost everyday

Junebug trick worms are my go to bait when nothing else works. I can rig one of them weightless or on a shakey head and I almost always know I'll catch a fish.
