Hey all,

I am going to take a crack at spin fishing for bass and other species this year.  I was fly fishing for a few years prior to the birth of my son (now 3 1/2) and I want to get back into the water.  I grew up spin fishing lakes/ponds/bays and oceans in NJ and have the itch to get back into the action.  Since I live in Lowry I am close to Quincy/Aurora and Cherry Creek.  I consider it a fresh start as I have not really focused on anything except trout in the rivers out here with my fly gear.
Any advice on getting a fairly basic setup for spin fishing?  Rod, reel and tackle?  I would love your advice.  Good news is that I have an Old Towne Vapor wide base kayak that I would love to get out on the lakes and ponds with.

Thanks,
Matt

Probably going to start with some kind spinning combo at this point................move on to a casting combo after that.  An all around good set-up that is versatile.

Well ok for the spinning combo a medium with fast action split. Grip technology for mor sensitivity. For the reel I would consider the abus one of reels 2500 series with 10 pound power pro braid with a 6 to 8 pound flourocarbon leader
