hey guys,

i wondering if a manuel jackplate would be worth it for my boat. if you have not seen my thread below its a 97 Nitro 700lx with a 120hp mercury tracker 2 stroke. i have a lazer 2 22P prop. im seeing about 50.1 mph on the gps.

boat is going in for service next week. carbs cleaned check the timing ect. Guy at the shop said ill gain 3-4 mph just by cleaning it up. its been needing a service.

now my question is. Would a 6 inch jackplate net me a few more mph?

Your thoughts and comments would be great.

Thanks phil

You could put a 6" on there and it would probably help.... a little. I'd be more worried about the new added stress on the transom in a 15 year old boat. Just not seeing the bang for the buck IMHO.

I have a 6'' on a 08 Z6 with a 125.  Was not worth it for me
