upgrading trolling motor on stratos 285?

Right now I have 70lb thrust seems like when it was new it ran really good but now it seems alot less powerfull.I recently put new batteries in to.My question is how long of shaft is on my boat and would an 80lb make a big defference?

You'll need the short version, 40-45" depending on the manufacturer. Which do you have now?

The 45" should do the job.  I just went from an 11 yr old 70lb TM to a new Fortrex 80lb.  Yes, Virginia, there IS a difference ;D
The older I get the better I was.........
