Red River

Next tournament is on the Red River on March 12. Reeves is using Bossier South, so we will be using River Bend (Clarks). We have checked with River Bend, and they are not aware of any conflicts... so we should have a easier go of it than BBH. Looking forward to seeing everyone there.

Safe light on March 12 should be 6:00am. I will be at River Bend around 5:30 to collect entry fees. We will again have the optional $1 trash fish pot (per person not per boat). Tell your friends, and we hope to see you there.

I'm starting to get excited!! Hope we have a turn out like the caddo event. Not aware of any other tournaments going on that day besides the Reeves event and I don't think too many of our members fish that.

Unfortunately, I won't be able to make the March 12 event. I have a bassmaster weekend series tournament on Lake Tyler that day. Should be the only tournament I miss.

I plan to pre-fish this Saturday, March 5, on the Red for the March 12 tournament. I understand that the Federation Nation is using Red River South, and that BOSS is using River Bend (old Clarks) the same day for their respective tournaments. I still plan to use River Bend, but don't expect to launch until around 8am, to avoid the traffic. If anyone is interested in meeting up let me know. I am not the most knowledgable about the river, but have fished out there for a number of years, and might be able to help show you around if necessary. PM me if you are interested.

Going to try to go tomorrow (Tue). Don't fish river much, but I am going to give it a try. Hope front from last night doesn't foil all the fishing.

Due to a handful of boat troubles Friday I am out of a boat for the time being. If ANYONE is going this week and has a back seat open please please let me know. I would greatly appreciate it and I promise not to fish your water on tournament day. Thanks John

Less than one week to go. Hope everyone can make it. We are launching from River Bend Marina (old Clarks). They will open at 5:15, and will have breakfast items available from the grill. We would encourage you to get your breakfast there since they are opening early for us. Launch time is 6:00am. Take of at your own risk. Remember, with River Bend, you need to stay close to the bank until you reach the rock wall, then follow the wall straight out. There are a few poles which will guide you. River was rough Saturday, but was very smooth yesterday. If the weather warms just a bit, this could be a huge weekend!

Yea u can lock or trailer to pool 4 if u want. If u trailer u can't leave till 6:00.

I will be there to make my contribution to pot. By the way what is considered a trash fish? Anything not a black bass since that is what we are fishing for?

I wish I could fish, but I cant find ANYONE to take my spot Saturday for work, so I went ahead and put my boat in the shop to get it tuned up! Wish everyone luck!!!!

We had a blast fishing with all of you again. Look forward to Bistineau next month even though I may have fished out there about 3 times my whole life. Also the folks at River Bend were really nice that was the first time i have launched out of there since it was Clarks. The owner (I believe) gave Logan two free boat launches for us because he released his fish at the dock.

Whatever it is y'all are going to be tough to beat points wise. Keep up the good work cuz I'm after y'all lol!!! If I keep fishing lime I did this weekend you won't have to worry bout it

Had a good time, caught a few fish but just couldn't get that better bite..except for one...

I'm really sick over that one...my son set the hook on a fish and it headed out for deeper water.....he fought it for a moment or so and said he couldn't reel in....turning the handle but not taking line in....I knew right off that his drag was likely very loose...tried to get to him and tighten that up about the time the fish came up and pulled loose...I didn't see the fish but he said all he saw was this huge mouth when it came up and shook loose and likely in the 6-8 pound range......tip of the hook was barely pulled through the craw he was using...drag was so loose a bream could have pulled line out....can't say if we would have landed that fish or not but chances would have been a little better with proper reel setup...heartbreaker for sure....not sure how that drag got so loose but bet it want happen again... would have been his PB but a least he got to hang a good one for a bit..
