Ive been doing some research on inboard chargers don't know which would fit my needs, 3 bank  I'm running a 12-24 system plus starting battery. What concerns me is output amps. The 3 bank  10amp per bank are quite about higher in price. Can a 15 amp charger bring 3 battery's back to full charge after a normal day on the lake or should invest in 30 amp charger (10amp per bank), could there be a way to up 2 bank charger on three battery's and get a complete charge..

                                                    Thanks for any input

15 amp will probably be alright, depending on how late you fish and in all honesty you can probably get by with a 2 bank onboard charger and a cheap 20$ walmart charger if the price is better.  You're starting battery should stay charged pretty well with the motor itself, but if you feel the need to you could always throw the 20$ charger on the starting battery.  I had a 2 bank charger for a few years and only had to charge my starting battery 1-2 times a year.  I'm not sure the price difference between the 2bank and 3 bank but it might be worth checking out.

Not sure how your system is set up, but I don't think that will work right.  IMHO get a 3 bank, you won't have to charge the crank bat for long and the better chargers on the market will use those amps for the other 2 batteries.  At least thats how mine works and a 15 has been plenty for me even after fishing all day for multipule days I've not had any issue.

Yeah, what he said.

I ordered a MK onboard last week for mine. Only ordered a 2 bank because most of the time I will only be running 2 batteries, some occasions I will have the 3rd in the boat but not in use and the 3 bank was out of my budget a hair. After reading reviews and talking to people about their experience first hand I decided Minn Kota was a good bet.

Replaced my BPS 3bank(stopped shutting off after charging). Went with MK 315d, micro processor control. Three step charging works great no problem in recharging 27 size over night. Like the lights showing stage of recharge. Got on line for $155 as i remember.
