O.K. I know it's not a Largemouth Bass fishing report, but I'm on vacation and this is the best that I can do.  I went fishing today with a long-time friend (Brett) out in Charleston Harbour, near the mouth of the James Island Creek.  It is actually called Plum Island.  We went fishing for Spot-tailed Bass.  In South Carolina, Redfish are known as Spot-tailed bass.  So you see, this is a "bass" report.  Anyways, the wind was 15-25 kts and we were in a 15' jon boat!  It was rough to say the least and it was cold, but the fishing was good and that's what counts.  We fished an hour of the outgoing tide, and an hour of the incoming tide.  I didn't get a bite, but Brett sure did show me up.  He caught three total; one 3#'er, a 4.5#'er and a 7#'er that was too big to keep.  We had a great time; man those things can put up a fight!  We caught the larger two on cut mullet, and the smaller one we caught on a live shrimp.  The cut mullet seemed to work better if it had some entrails with it.  The water was very muddy from the wind and the fish were relying on smell for the most part.  We caught all of our fish in about 6-14 inches of water.  I cleaned the two smaller ones and we are going to cook them up Thursday. Any suggestions on your favorite way to cook them?

Give a man a fish and he'll eat for a day, teach a man to fish and you'll never see him again!

Trey thanks for posting. I am going to be interested in how you do finally cook them as I imagine I will get to tangle with a few of them myself here in a few months.
