first off this is an open pour mold. i replied to someones question about pouring pre rigged swimbaits on another forum and i decided to go home and try my advice out. pics are attached. here's the step by step...

1) use a paper clip through the eye
2)crayon, or anything really on the barb section of the hook...this will set the angle so position wisely.
3) pour the plastic
4) demold/cure
5)post some pics on here

if you want to add a stinger, you could do 2 things

1) already add it to the jig head then use a razor to cut a slit and pull it out then attach the treble.

2) use something..coffee stirrer straw, reg straw, or simething like a .22 cal shell to creat a hole to the hook.
attach whatever material used for your stinger
   attach treble.
   post pics

the stinger ideas are just that, ideas. this was the first time trying the prerigged idea so i'm sure the stinger idea would work just fine...i like the 1st idea better

few notes....sorry about the overdose of glitter i hit the table and a bunch came out. and also i didnt heat up enough plastic so i had t take some scrap to fill the rest..i chose purple b/c i'm on a purple/ purple back bait kick right now. enjoy. and if you have opinions/cmments, please let me know.

P.S. i know they look  a lil rough, i was just seeing if i could do it, next ones will be nicer

Sweet!  So, what size hook are you using?  It looks a bit small. great tutorial though.  the stinger is a must and there are many ways to do it, check out the saltwater side of the house, those guys do the stinger hooks the right way.

i dont have a clue about the jig head..all i hade was tiny ones from pan fish and then i found two old walmart swimbaits and took the head out..its light and way to small, just used for visual. i think its 1/8oz it has the foil on it but since i hit the table the glitter went everywhere you cant really see it lol.  i will check out how people tie up the king mackeral rigs. i know they use wire..then ill shorten it. when i get it up and running ill post pics. i will have my first painted crank up tonight sometime too i hope.

not a problem. i'm glad that i finally had a chance to contribute something. i've learned alot, and posted results but most things i figure out are already archived and everyone knows about them. ill work on the stinger hook thing and see what i can come up with.
