Here is the first of two proposals that I will be bring to the club for consideration:
Proposal #1:
1.    The ECBM Classic will be conducted in the month of May and the week after Mothers Day each year.
2.   To participate in the classic the contestant must be a member in good standing at the time of the   classic.  This means your dues must be current and must have fished at least eight tournaments from the previous year.
3.   Participation in the classic will be determined from the past years final standings.
4.   The participants of the classic will be the top 6 point holders from the previous year.
5.   The top three point holders will be boaters.  The next three point holders will be non-boaters and will be paired, by random draw, with a boater.
6.   The boaters will be competing against the other two boaters to be the ECBM CLASSIC "BOATER" for 20??.  The non-boaters will be competing against the other two non-boaters to be the ECBM CLASSIC NON-BOATER for 20??.
7.   The entry fee for the classic will be $20.00 for each boater and $10.00 for each non-boater.  The club will pay $300.00 for the classic.  Of this  $300.00 the boater division will receive $200.00 and the non-boater division will receive $100.00.
8.   This would be winner take all tournament.  Boater winner would receive a plaque and $260.00.  The non-boater winner would receive a plaque and $130.00.
9.   Boater and non-boaters may switch which boat will be used in the classic, but they can not switch the division they qualified for.

I think we should stick to the 6 man format.  What are the points even good for if 90% of the club makes it anyways.  But if we don't I think everyone should be in the tournament as long as you meet the qualifications.

I want to add to this proposal and proposal #2 and that is that the tournament should be a 2 day tournament.

Also add the following:  The tournament site will be determined by blind draw from the tournament sites fished that year.

I agree with you Anthony.  I say the top 6 also.

I always thought of "The Tournament Trail Classic" as finding out the best of the best from the group of fisherman...but You already have the top six for the year...I agree we need an incentive

You guys want to take the top six from the previous year and fish 3 agianst 3.... I know I an still kinda new to this but that is not fair to the rest of the club.

If you want to fish a big money Tournament for the club it should be avaliable to the club members as a whole at least to the ones who participate in eight tournaments like was discussed previous....

It does not matter to me but top six is not fair to the club.

Jeff,
Again I have to bring up the importance of the points.  Before we started this it has always been the top 6 in the points for the year got their entry fee paid for the 6 man tournament.  If anyone wanted to fish and was not part of the top six they had to pay not the club.  If we don't keep the importance of the points intac then we need to just do away with the points and just fish for angler of the year, because there is no reward for finishing the year in the top 6.
Not to say we could increase the cut off to the top 8 or top 10.  In the case of the top eight for example; the top 4 would be boaters the next top 4 would be non-boaters.  Same for the top ten.  The number must be divisable by 2.  I agree that all must have fished 8 tournaments.

When I read this I didn't realize their were option...

I am one who fished for the top six every year... I agree with the points that was my goal every year.

I really don't know to say or how to feel.

I think the club jumped the gun a little bit getting out of the Federation.
We have had members join the club for that purpose alone.
I think that membership will not have any reason to grow with out something like the Federation.... This money Classic is something but for who one person.... How long do you think it will last...

I joined the club because a good buddy introduced me to fishing and I have loved it sence...Thanks

My point is a 4 or 5 hundred dollar tournament is not going to encourage membership...
