Revote

I feel last nights vote was not accurate. We should have firsted voted for how the money was going to be spent. And what I mean by this is wether to have a good old boys weekend or a mini classic. My suggestion won but I don't feel the voice of the club was heard. The votes would have been 6 to 4 in favor of a classic and then we can work out the details from there.

I disagree with what you said about the voice of the Club was not heard. I think it was heard loud and clear. The vote made last night showed me that the majority of club was thinking of the club as a whole and not just a select few.

I don't think that re vote is an option.....Your suggestion was entirely different than the other three options. you are probably right... the vote should have been between classic or celebration tournament.... but its is too late now... thats the reason that Scott wanted you to make it clear what you were suggesting.....

If you wanted a celebration tournament you should consider "the husband/wife/family tournament" that is the tournament that you could win the club participation in as a "GET TOGETHER TOURNAMENT" That is the reason for that Tournament.... Get the club to Invest in that and then both proposals cane be accomplished..... just saying......

The reason I wanted my Idea in the vote was it was deciding where money was being allocated to. So if the money goes to the classic my idea is already dead in the water. I don't feel bad about what I did I just don't know if the voting was handled in the correct way. And no I don't think the husband wife would be even remotely the same. Our club has changed rules on the fly since I have been in it. So I don't see why we could'nt vote again. The club is suppose to be fun. We all fish bigger tournaments that we can worry about money in. We seem to lost site of that a bit. I remember when we use to go to gaston or kerr, drink beers on peoples boats in the parking lots and shot the shit for hours. Now it seems we argue and go home as quickly as possible after weigh ins and meetings

I understand what you want to do....but there is no structure to the idea....bucks plan has structure... You could accomplish your goal on our regular tournament trail if you wanted.
The times we go to Gaston or Kerr we all don't hang out then ...why do you think it wil be different with your suggestion?

The Queen has ask me not to comment on this adgenda................but u know me two different proposals to fish a tournament for money and a winner or go fishing to drink beer and have a good time I'M UP FOR BOTH their just not the same......

I admire your candor and commitment to the club, and I have to agree with your comments about the club not being as it use to be, but that doesn't mean WE can't get it back and the way you have approached this issue is a darn good start.
First your right that the vote was not presented correctly, and I am at fault for most of the mess. We should have had a vote on how the club wanted to handle the extra money that we now have that we no longer have to pay for a six man team entry. We know that there were 2 proposals on this point. One was to have a classic tournament and the other was to have a fishing weekend. That should have been our first vote.
If the classic proposal won then discussion should follow on how the classic was to be conducted. If the fishing weekend won then discussion should follow on how the weekend would be conducted.
I am sure that the club would consider readdressing this issue on these terms; at least I would hope so.
