Hey guys, I have a 2011 Pantera Classic that is about 8 months old. I was fishing in the rain yesterday and everytime my auto bilge or aerator kicked on the horn would blow. It started out every once in a while and started getting more frequent and finally every light on the vision touch control pad lit up and the horn was blowing non-stop. I had to pull the molex wiring harness connector loose from the control module board under the dash to get it to stop. At first I thought it was from getting wet but, after further checking it was bone dry under there, so to speak. Needless to say, I have no horn, bilge, livewell aerator or running lights. I guess I will have to call my boat dealer Monday morning. Has any other Bass Cat owners had this problem before and if so, what was the outcome.

Very interesting to say the least.  Definitely sounds like a shorted touch pad?  And the progressive nature of it would lead you to believe the water caused it.

More than likely you'll end up with a new key pad.

I liked the days when you had a separate switch for each component.  When something would have trouble it didn't effect the entire system  ~b~ Most boat companies have gone to the Touch Pads.  I'll bet most of them are by the same manufacturer as well.

Be sure to let us know what they say.  I'd unplug the horn and press on for now  :-*  Did you put it back together and try it again?

Yes Mike,
I put a fan on it overnight even though it wasn't wet under the dash but, the results were the same. I posted this question on www.bassboatcentral.com on the Bass Cat section and there was one other guy who had a similar problem and had to get the touch pad replaced. I'm calling Brech Marine this morning and hopefully he can get me back up and going pretty quick.
Thanks !!

Mike,
You told me to let you know about my vision touch pad problem results. My boat dealer Brech Marine called Bass Cat Boats and they said that they had a few vision touch pads to go bad. A new one is being shipped to me this week at no charge. Bass Cat Boats said that the rain had nothing to do with it, just a coincidence that it happened while I was fishing in the rain. Maybe I will be back in business before the week is out.

Outstanding, thanks for the follow up ~c~
