Here's some images from Texoma last week when I was practicing for the BASS Open...SI helped me find some fish but it didn't teach them how to hang on the baits and bite.

nice images...looks like you're getting some interference/turbulence when speeds get up past 3mph?

also, looks like your water clarity isn't as 'turbidity free' as the 'home waters'?

It's really amazing what this technology picks up...including how it shows water clarity differences...

DougV

I don't see differences in water clarity been running it since 2004. Humminbird Side Imaging wourks equal in Dirty Water as Clear Water. The image you pointed had SI Enhance feature on Low Setting so it intensifies the strong returns like fish and hard bottom.

okay...I believe I see differences in the imagery I get between spring conditions (cool water, no algae blooms, very clear water) and what I'll get in mid-summer with more 'turbid' conditions..

in essence, the imagery I get is 'sort of' fuzzy like the ones you shared from the OK reservoir...

When you turn SI Enhance on it will change the way the image looks. It makes the fish jump out at you versus crisp structure but the advantages of seeing fish are more beneficial than seeing crisp structure when looking for fish to catch. If you can't see them you can't catch em. Here's the exact same image at the different SI Enhance Levels - A Humminbird Exclusive:

SI Enhance Off:

SI Enhance Low:

SI Enahnce Medium:

SI Enhance High:

SI will show you algae blooms, water turbulence but the color of the water has no difference in details that you see.

Great examples Doug.  I can't tell from my unit on the water clarity.  I get clear returns from dirty water as good as I get from clear water.
