The bilge pump on my 97 Ranger R-80 is not working. The fuse was blown, I replaced it and it blew again. I took the pump motor out, couldn't find any bare wires, unplugged the pump
and turned the switch on. The switch lit up and the fuse didn't blow. I hooked the pump up directly to the battery and it wouldn't run. Can I be pretty sure it is the pump or am I overlooking something. Thanks for your help.
I don't mind not knowing all the answers, but I keep forgeting the danged questions.

Thanks Don, that would be the easiest thing to fix. if I have to go pulling wires from under the deck its going to be a hassle.

I would hate to have to do that also.  Tracing and pulling wires isn't fun.

Thats one of the things I need to do when I get home is get under the drivers console and just check
out the fuse box area.

My bilge, aireators etc are all in the open under my back deck which makes it easy to get to if
problems arise.

You going to Academy or Walmart to get a new pump?
