As a rule of thumb I always do this, now with the higher heats, I figure I'd share it with ya'll. Whenever I have to bump my fish, the 1st thing I do is dip my bump board in the water, lake or livewell, to take the heat off of it and save the slime coat on a fish. Weather you keep the board on deck or in a compartment, they get hot, not to mention they are dry and as we all know if you put something slimy on something dry it will rub off. Now imagine what it does when the board is hot and dry.

Great post!   ~c~ ~c~

It's funny how we can do something all the time and not think to share it with others, been doing this for years just never thought about it.   :embarassed:

Get tip, like Ron, I've been doing this for a long time and never thought about posting it! Guess I need to take a look at my "habits" and see what there is to share?

We never see the guys on TV do it...and we 'tend' to mimic their behaviors...

lots of room for the Big Shots to tighten up their treatment of fish as well... ;)
