this is a good poll..because it reflects what we as fishgermen like to use in our choice of baits...plastics..spinnerbaits...topwater etc...will all catch the BASS..You just have to have confidence and keep tossing...until...you get a bite..now start duplicaating what you did and most likely you will catch more...HAPPY 4th of JULY AMERICANS

I'd like to start using more of these new swim baits they have out now. I guess really for me my big bass bait would have to be buzzbaits on these summer nights. Listening to that bomb go off when they blow up on it.     YOU GOT TO LOVE IT!!!

IMO:...these big baits we are speaking of..are not a CURE ALL<<...yes indeed they will catch big fish...But I would prefer to catch several good size bass throught the day as compared to junking a big A-- lure..trying for one good bass...what wyould that weight be for you??   7...9...11 pds..???..I have caught many a 5-7 lb bass fishing reg baits..1/4 oz , 2/0 hooks, 5-7 inch worms...(not bigbaits) I voted on the Spinner bait because I caught my largest..(10.8) on a 3/4 oz spinner bait...(large bait) on toledo bend Feb 28, 1993....Now that a long time ago...nothing bigger since then...

Ronald, The difference in Throwing a Big bait and throwing a 1/4 oz can be the difference in a 12lb stringer and a 25lb stringer. I definately see your point about Big Fish biting small baits, My PB 12.38 came on a 1/4 oz spinnerbait, BUT I have caught far more big fish(7-10lbs)
on big baits than I have on small ones. Some lakes I won't ever pull a big bait out because the numbers of big fish aren't there. Then there are lakes I fish that I never throw anything small because they are full of big fish. I personally would rather catch 10 fish 3-7lb than catch 50 14inchers.

Yeah you really need to! They work best in the spring. The Skinny Bear SB5 swimbait is BY FAR the best its soft, tough, realistic and has an awesome swimming action!

10-4 on the big bait thing..my point is ...and imo: you can fish all day w/out much success with a BIG Kahoona bait...I dont mean 12 inch swim baits...3/4 oz spinner baid, or 3/4 oz rattle traps...is what I am refering to as big baits..never used anything larger...start up fisherman can burned out real easy pullling these big baits..and it elliminates lots of smaller strikes from the dinks..if you want to fish big...thats cool..

We arent the kinda people who fish all year for three fish. we do how ever are trying to catch 3 pound bass and bigger for tournaments. If you throw 1/4 oz spinnerbaits for 1 pound bass, unless thats what is going to win tournaments. I have had to down size just to catch fish period. but 99.9999999% of my tournament wins are on bigger baits.
