I am inquiring to get a little help. I live in Laf. LA, but my parents live on Sibley in Natch. I fish usually every time I go, but I feel like I spin my wheels every time. I catch one or two maybe every third or forth trip. I am just looking to maybe get a few tips to help me be a little more productive out there. Anything would be appreciated. I am going this weekend! ~sun

Where are you going to launch at?

Buddy's public launch, but the house is on the other side mid lake. They live in the new subdivision on the lake.

There is some lily pad patches on the west side about mid lake, caught some nice fish there last year in a club tournament. Also if you go around on the big point there is a steep bank on the east side with a big pine tree  sticking out over the water. Caught some good fish there on a h2o "woops"y shad crank bait. Pad fish came on a watermelon fluke.

I have had good luck fishing the launch site and all coves piers etc...you find...
I have had good luck fishing the depth contour changes off shore
I have had good luck fishing the Main Island and the bridge...and the levi back to the lauunch...BEST COLOR:..ICE BLUE..CURLY TAIL WORMS..Crawfish..etc...10 lb test 2/o or 1/o hook...I have found that...10 piers in a row, same bank, maybe only 2 of them holds fish...the rest would zero...but fwhere you catch one on sibly..likely to catch another...Good Luck..Let us know..

Well fellas it was one of my strikeout trips. I must say that I did not put a lot of effort into it. (It was plum hot) I guese I just need to keep on trying to figure somethings out. The thing that gets me about the lake is the water was in the 90's, I believe the fish would more than likely not be shallow and the whole lake is 12' except for a few places. There is not much structure on the lake. With all that said there are fish in the lake and some rather nice size ones. You would think they would be piled up somewhere. So, where are they? Summer time is so frustrating on that lake.

I would trailer over to Cane River and throw a ribbit over hydrilla by Plantation Point.  Would hit Sibley again when it is cold and white perch turn on.  Sibley can be tough tough.  I would call it the Cross Lake of Natchitoches.
