What is the best setting for HDS on our lakes?

Kyle Kennington

SHALLOW. All units come either in Freshwater or General use but you need to change it to shallow. It covers 0-20feet.

I turn the auto sensitivity off and keep the manual sensitivity set to about 63-65%. Not really to many things to change on them.

There is a DVD at BPS that's called "The Bass Pros". In one of the episodes...Edwin Evers explains how to set up your HDS unit. It's worth a shot looking for.

this is a HUGE point...so much so that I'm amazed that there isn't a special 'applications' chapter in the handbook covering 'typical/best' settings in manual mode for various circumstances...

Like a 'case study' section...
