I need to know how many miles it is from Bishop's Point to RR South Marina. And is RR South in Port Lake? And is there is any tricky parts too navigating the river in that distance as long as we stay between the buoys? Any help is appreciated. Eddie

It's 12.5 miles from Bishop's Point Ramp to RRSM Ramp.  RRSM is located in Port Lake.  Last time I checked all of the navigation buoys were in their correct positions, I don't know of anywhere on the main river channel that you would have problems running.

Near the Port of Shreveport/Bossier, there is a sand bar in the main channel, on your right as you go north.  It has a green marker on it.  Also, I hit something submerged in that general area two weeks ago that took a bite out of my prop.  Otherwise, all should be clear.

Thanks guys. I appreciate it. We are not sure whether we will run by boat to the weigh-in Saturday or trailer to it. I think my brother said there was some road construction on Youree Dr. that would slow us driving to the weigh-in. Thanks again-Eddie

Construction just started on Youree, right in the heart of the shopping area, which will definetly impact traffic.   But, you should be able to get onto 70th Street and take Jimmy Davis Bridge to get into Bossier by a detour onto East Kings, going behind LSUS/WK Pierremont.  I would take Stratmore to Kings, and then head to 70th...  Good luck!

If you cut between that bullnose (big pile of rocks) and the north shore, then you went across a rock jetty...that's just under the surface when the river is at pool.  I've tried to get them to pile rock on there, so people don't damage their boats...but they won't, saying it costs too much.

we were in the dead middle of the river when we felt a slight hesitation in the motor.  Later found the prop damage.  Don't know what we hit, but we should have been clear.

That river is nasty you might have hit a dang floating log or something.

Lawguy513

Don't think a log could have done that type of damage... must have been something metal or rock.  Where we were, there should not have been anything.  However, I can't really be sure that this was wear it happened, as we went to several areas, including Nenock, Clarks, and a few other areas that we had not been to in a while.

Do you know if you can get into macdade or not?

JMGullo

I don't think so but not 100% sure
