Marty & Frank took top honors (and the cash$$) last night again  ~c~, edging out Chris & I by .14 lb!  ~b~

Marty & Frank had a nice 3.05 lbr, for their 3rd win of the Big Fish Tournament series. ~gf

It was a beautiful evening, aside for a brief rain shower  ~rain that cooled things off a bit.

The only perplexing thing that we discussed afterwards is why there is not a bigger turnout.  :-\  Anyone who can cast a lure has the same chance to catch a big fish as the next guy, plus we are fishing in an area where there are plenty of big bass, there is no launch fee, you don't have to rush afterwards because the gates are open all night, and we have some great fellowship.  ~sun

I'd love to hear from some of you with your thoughts & suggestions.   :-*

If I worked closer I would try to make more of these.  I did enjoy the few I have made.  I like the 3 fish format better then big fish.

I would love to fish these tourneys but i am in the same boat with the timing of launch. if it was a Sunday 4-8 deal, i would most likely be able to get in. Just a thought.

I often am still driving home at 5:30. Plus I think the economy has something to do with it.

I know I would be there but to fish for 3 hours on a weeknight, its sort of rushing around for not a whole lot of boat time.   Sunday evening tourney from 3:00 to 8:30 would certainly draw more.

Hard to say. I know where Im working now I would be pushing it close on a thursday, but there always seemed to be pretty decent turnouts for the 3fers and they were on wenesdays so who knows.

greg hall

3 fers were horrible last year !!! we shut them down early because o a lack of particpation Im not sure if we are doing them this year or not?

RKnudsen

yea they were horrible last year because the fishing in middle river was terrible. still is. im sure people were getting tired of launching in the back of the river and running all the way out to find fish for a 3 hour tournament. but the year before that when the fishing was still decent i can remember fishing a couple 3fers with over 20 boats. thats why im saying i cant see why thursday is such a problem when wednesdays used to be popular. i have no idea just throwing my opinion out there. the only reason i havent fisghed a thursday nighter is i am not familiar with joppatown and dont have the boat to run far enough in a 3 hour tourney to waters i am familiar with. i hope you guys start having better turn outs adn good fishing!

greg hall

Joppatown is where the fish are at! we are have our meeting tonight & im suggesting we have a sunday eving mini TX 4 hours 5 fish like from 4 to 8 pm, we will see if it goes well. joppatown is the only option for any short afternoon tx Dundee has a ramp fee & will deter most from comming because of the ramp fee.

with all the people on here i have seen suggest a sunday nighter you should have a decent turnout. weathers lookin good for it so far. we have the boat on a lift and a few problems with the trailer but are in the process of getting them straightened out. if we could get it trailered by sunday that would be awesome but well see. If i dont get the trailer fixed and anyone needs a partner id love to fish it.

greg hall

just came from our meeting doing wed night 3fers in middle river starting in a few weeks.

basspro15

Scott maybe we should switch to sunday nite! Sounds like more people would fish it! Greggs club is gonna do the 3fers from middle river on wed so sunday nite may be our best bet!

greg hall

Thats really the only time I can fish anymore,I suggested a sunday night mini TX 5 fish four hours.for guys who dont fish the week big TXs ,I think that would be cool If I had my own scale Id run it LOL!

Is Middle River fishable? I know that was everyones main concern last year...I like the idea of a Sunday Tournament

greg hall

Hey Bill go fish in there a few days & let us know !!lol

Can't do the 5 fish in 4 hours out of Middle River on Sunday.  Not with the no wake zone on weekends.  If it is out of Mariner Point, Gunpowder, or Dundee I'm sure I'd make a few of those...

basspro15

I ment sunday nites out of mariner point! not middle river!

hockeyref

Sunday sounds good to me i have made a few on wed but sunday would be a lot easier. Three fish would be good five fish would
be better but i do like the one fish.

yeah, Sunday's evenings from 4-7:30 or 8. sounds good. 4:30 - 8 or what ever. Just thinking about the p;easure boaters coming in around that time tying up the ramp
