After seeing photos for pvc rod racks. I knocked this one out in about 5 minutes.
I bought 4 1.25" Tees, 2 1.25" elbows, and 4 or 5 feet of 1.25" pvc pipe.
I cut .5" off of each tee to make the fit narrower.   It's not currently glued up and I may not glue on the elbows, and instead drill and peg them in place to allow me to add an additional rod holder, if I decide to use this on a boat.

You could continue linking T's into a square base if you wanted to and hold about 10 rods in a 14x10" space.

That is neat. If ever I get a float tube, I will employ this design to hold multiple rods.  :-* ~c~
ARX - IB's Daughter on BC Reels:
"Papi! I like this reel. It is so much easier to use than the other one (the spinning reel) and it is more fun to use too." Now all I can say to that is this;
"That's my little girl!"

Here's a photo of it at the pond...., I can now one hand all 4 rods, keep them from tangling in the car and keep the rods off the floor when at the shore.  I can pull the elbows off and use it to keep the rods organized on a boat.

That is a sweet set-up  ~c~ ~c~ ~c~

Thanks for posting, looks like I've got another trip to the hardware store in my future  lo

I hacked off about 1/2" on each side of the tee and elbows to make the form factor narrower.
I used a compound miter saw and a clamped block of wood as a stop when cutting the T's

Pop me an email if you need any tips with fabrication or if you think a step by step assembly with photos would be worth while.  (I plan to make the one below for the house).

This is the "home" stand I found on another fishing site that got me thinking to build this.

Pro Reel

I did something very similar on my small water boat. I just used 1 ft lengths of 2 in PVC and used half circle pipe clamps to bolt them to the side. I always fish off the left side of the boat so i put the vertical tubes on the right side behind and slightly to the side of my front seat. I can have 7 rods in the little boat and simply turn around to get a different one. Your design looks like a great way to build a rack for home storage, My only sugestion is to sand the tops and round them off to keep from gouging your handles.
