How did you make out up on Conostinko ?  I plan on checking it out this weekend for the first time this season.  I had heard that the crank bait bite was pretty good.  Guess we'll see.

I only had a few hours so I stayed in broad creek. It was so packed full of debris it wasnt even funny.  I couldnt believe all the crap in there.  It almost looked like someone took the middle of the lake and dumped it into the creek.  Fishing was sucky.  Got 4 total.  Had tons and tons of bait on my side scan unit.  Im talking tons!!  The bass were coming up and gorging on bait but they didnt want anything I had.  My guess is that there was so much bait they could care less about my lure.  There wasnt any water moving either.  That place can be great when the pull a little water.

I think you are right on.  Hard to get bit with a lot of bait in the area.  And you definitely need some flow for the best action.
I am going to try and stay on the main lake and see what happens there.  I love Funks Pond but depending on trash and water depth it is a hit or miss on even getting in there.

Greg  i had a couple of smallies over 3 1/2 l  up there last year but most are under 2 lbs.

From what I could see the fish are doen with the spawn up there. At least in braod creek anyway.  They are done in loch raven and a few other reservoirs as well.  Im thinking main lake and deep or go up near muddy creek.

My buddy and I went up to the lake this morning.  Struggled for a while then got on a pattern on the main lake.  Fished the shoreline with deep water access and off rocky shoreline. Flipped stick baits (Senco) to drops and wood. Our best five was a little over 12lbs.  which for up there is OK with me.  Also there is plenty of grass and I would think the top water bite is at hand.

Got a little breezy so we called it a day by 12:30.
