I have been fishing a Lake Fork Craw Tube alot this year and have been bending the hook out alittle to get the point into the fish. Well in the June Bassmaster Clark Reehm shows a little trick that he says increases his hookups nearly 100 precent. When flipping and pitching tubes baits, there is so much plastic to deal with that the tube balls up on the hook a lot of times. Here's how he doctors the tube: 1. Thread the tube on your hook to the bend like you would when Texas rigging 2. Using a pair of scissors, slice down the back side of the tube (the side you don't bury the hook in) from the base up to 1/4 inch away from where the hook comes out 3. Texas rig like normal. When you set the hook, the hook will only need to clear half the amount of plastic to get into the fish.
