trolling motor problem

i have a motorguide brute 67 thrust and its stuck in high gear and some times when i step on the pedal i have to tap the top of the trolling motor to get it to work im not sure if their something loose in their or what. so my question is is it worth fixing or should i just buy a brand new trolling motor?

With the information given its hard to say. How old is it and were you happy with it before this happened ? It doesn't sound like there is a whole lot wrong but I wouldn't spend much on it if it don't have the features you want. My self I kind of wish mine would break because I would love to have one with variable speed and constant on but can't bring myself to replace a perfectly good trolling motor.
