pool 13 club tournament

I guess I should have made a post here yesterday

I fished a club tournament out of pool 13 yesterday.  We had 9 people signed up for the first one of the year.

Nate drew out boat number one (and found out why that sucks).  We ended up fishing around the same area.  We were with in sight of each other all day, but never really fished the same fish.  I did fish by him for a few min, but that was more just to shoot the  and see how his day was going.

I ended up with a great day on the water.  My first spot gave up 4 quick keepers and then more and more boats started working the area.  Once that happend my fish started getting smaller and smaller.  I caught my first 4 fish on 4 different baits.  One on a swimjig, one on a spinnerbait, one on a vibrashock and one on a crankbait.  Talk about tossing the kitchen sink at them

I was still cathing alot of fish, but could not get one more keeper.  So I moved to an area that I thought would be holding one keeper.  When I got in there I saw two boats   But I decided to give it a shot anyway.  After about 20 min I almost decided to pull out, but fished one more weed clump.  Wham!! fish and it takes off into open water.  I started thinking it was a dog fish, but saw it was a bass.  I swung it into the boat and right in the livewell.  10 am finally filled my limit

Back to my first area to try for something else that might help me out.  It was not working to well.  Still alot more fish caught, but no size at all.  At 1:20 I decided I was going to head to one more spot and then to the weigh in at 3.  I pulled in and on the first cast caught a small pike.  5 min later I pulled another keeper but it was smaller then any I had.   2 cast later another keeper.  This one was able to kick my 14 1/4" back.  This fish was a totaly different color then the rest.  Nate could tell you. 

I was shocked at the weigh in, because when I pulled my fish out of the livewell they looked bigger then when I put them in.  That never happens.  I ended up in 2nd place with 14 pounds and I also had big bass at 4.12.  I thought I had 12 pounds at best

WAy to go  eye need to get over there and fish 13 with one of y'all maybe in july if we have a meet.

I would like to get a group of guys out on pool 13.  If we pick the right weekend, I think we could get a few local guys with boats to show some of you other guys around
