The Reel Expectations organization is sponsoring three (3) Adult/Youth Team Tournament Trail bass fishing tournaments this year on the Nanticoke River (Seaford, Delaware). Reel Expectations is sponsoring the events to raise money for the annual Reel Expectations Ministries Youth Retreat.

The youth retreat offers the young teens the opportunity to travel to places like Santee Cooper, SC and Lake George, NY for fishing adventures, while embracing good moral values, bonding close personal relationships with peers, sportsmanship and education.

The 3 tournament series is open to any Adult/Youth fishing team, that are eligible under the rules (one adult angler over the age of 18, and one minor angler who has not reached 18 by October 3rd). Interested adult boaters without partners may be paired with minors at the organization's discretion.

Entry fee is $50/boat and the tournament will pay out 1 place for every 5 boats. There is an optional $5 big bass fee (100% payback), plus another optional $25 Bonus Money fee to add to the winnings.

The tournament hours will be from 7AM to 12PM with lunch to follow (included with entry). The dates for the tournament are as follows:

June 19th
August 28th
October 3rd

For more details on the tournaments contact Easternshore or Alpha199 on this site.

That would be great for the Upper Bay. Maybe we need to plan something like that. Even if it's a "fruit jar" deal. Would be fun

When I was in a bass club last year I brought up this idea as to having 1-2 adult/youth opens however, it was too late in the season to make anything happen. I believe I may have tossed the idea on the board before as well, but I can't remember.

Either way I think it would be nice to see a club do some sort of adult/youth open tournament. Not only would this allow for youth's to get out and fish, but MORE importantly it might allow some Fathers or even Mothers to get out, spend time with and fish with their child... something so many people take for granted (time with their kids).

Now that I think about it, I think my idea was to have a Parent/Child open tournament. Again, allowing parents to share with their kids the passion they enjoy and they hope to pass on about fishing. I know we all get caught up in the moment when it comes blast off time at a Tx, but fishing with youth or your child for JUST one cast beats any feeling you can get from winning a Tx (thats my opinion of course).

This is still the same (former) FOM Delaware circuit. The director is no longer running the Delaware division but he wanted to continue the youth series for the benefit of the Reel Expectations organization, and getting kids out there.

If we brought a tournament, maybe October, or even a fourth event, to Anchor Marina, could we get you guys to particpate?
