I recently installed two new Lowrance HDS-8s along with 2 LGC-4000 modules.  Everything is networked properly and the NMEA 2000 power node is switched.  As soon as I turn power on to the network, both LGC-4000 modules emit and very high pitched buzzing noise.  The GPS functions fine, however I've never heard such a noise come out of GPS modules and I'm wondering if this is normal with these.  It's not loud enough to hear on a windy day, but it is easily heard in a garage or on a very quite day.  Anyone else notice this?

okay, I spoke too soon...been working to install the LSS-1 and run the wiring according to schematics...now I AM getting that whine...   ~rant ~b~  plus, I'm getting a constant current draw...

have a couple of SOS's out...if I can get answers, fix this issue, I'll let you know what I find out...

apologies for my first ignorant post...but I stand behind my second ignorant post...    ~roflmao

Regards your GPS whine...do you know if you have/don't have constant current draw when unit is 'off' (switch in circuit is off)?

know I tried to run this 'power switch through my accessori circuit (since I don't have a lighter/plug in)...and that was the 'start' of my challenge.

The whine you describe is unique to the LGC-4000 and is completely normal.

Regarding constant current draw related to the NMEA 2000 network, the NMEA must be wired thru a switch, otherwise the draw will be constant.
