I wanted to see if anyone else has had issues with the Geust battery charger. I did not upgrade this when i bought the boat so i have the 8amp 4/4 charger. Regardless of the time it is plugged in, it will not charge the batteries. I have a trickle charger which i hooked up to each battery and that charged them fine. The red light stays on all the time. I was out on a windy day with one of my buddy's. I had to use a drift sock in addition to the trolling motor to stay in place. After I put it on charge, no green light. Does anyone have this unit on their rig? If not, any suggestions as to what I should replace it with? I am looking at the ProMariner/ Pro Tournament 100/ 150L. The 150L is a 12/24/36 charger and I was thinking to hook it up to the starting battery as well but that might not be worth the extra $100. Let me know your thoughts. Thanks.

Wasp,
I have the same model on my 482 and it appears to be working fine.  It is not a bundle of speed, but light goes red, and the next morning the green light is on and batteries appear to be charged fine.  I also hooked the 2nd bank up to the starting battery on mine as I only have one trolling motor battery.  Starting battery takes a lot of abuse anyway with the live wells, depth finders, etc. Unless you make long runs, which I usually don't.

Thanks.
I spoke with the head mech at BPS and he said if the red light stays on, the charger is bad. I am going with a Pro Mariner 3 bank to charge all the batteries. We will see what happens.

When I went through the orientation when I picked up my Z-7 the head maint guru told me they had what is considered a high failure rate and suggested that I use a power strip to protect the circuits while its plugged in. Being a maintenance oriented dude it makes total sense to me. I had A triple bank Guest added as an option when I ordered the boat.  Its worth a shot either way I mean your out what 12 bucks for the strip and its probably a good idea regardless of what manufacture you use for your charger. Hmm I think Ill post this in tips too! ~fff
