I have an OLD Town kayaka Diringo XT106 Angler model and it is made up of 3 layer polyethylene. I want to buy a fish finder but want to know if the transducer will work in this type of yak when placed in the yak. The reason i am asking is because of the 3 layey will the waves travel through with any problem. If so can i just hang it of the side. I would love to install it in the yak but if worst comes to worst i have to toss it over boared. Thanx for any INFO  v~

I have a canoe and replacing the transducer on my aging humminbird... I plan to make a simple wood float and just let it stay next to me, the cable is stiff enough it won't let it go far, but I can also use a rod tip to push it farther out if I need to. I also have a few old cheap rods left over, I may tie some line on one and use that to move it around
My wife and I had 22 happy years... then we got married.
