-Shawn-

I see a lot of guys fight with the line when they are trying to respool baitcaster and I have learned a litle trick that makes getting the line around the spool very easy on reels with drilled spools. .

Just run your line through  the level wind and stick the end ito one of the holes in the spool and release the spool and spin it with your thumb and the end of the line will come right around the bottom and to the top making it simple to tie.  ;)

Yeah, that works good. For limper lines, it could be a challenge for which I will use a small piece of tape to get it around.
ARX - IB's Daughter on BC Reels:
"Papi! I like this reel. It is so much easier to use than the other one (the spinning reel) and it is more fun to use too." Now all I can say to that is this;
"That's my little girl!"

I usually use a filler line and tie into the line...10 or 12 lb test mono..but I might try the braid this year...

If you try braid, do yourself a favor and make sure you have some cheap mono filler on the reel first! If you don't you'll get a big bite and half way to the boat that braid will go, , slip

I have not had that problem with using braid but then I do use the little white pieces of thick tape that comes in the package to really seat the line on while spooling it up.

Viper,

The only problem I have found with the tape is that after the rig is fished in the rain a few times, then dries out a few times, the tape lets go.  If you check it regularly shouldn't be a problem.  ;D
